REGIONAL FORA ACCOMANIMENT PROGRAM (RFAP)

A way has to be found to enable everyone to benefit from the fruits of the earth, and not simply to close the gap between the affluent and those who must be satisfied with the crumbs falling from the table, but above all to satisfy the demands of justice, fairness and respect for every human being.

KROSS in collaboration with Caritas India has been executing Regional Forum Accompaniment Programme for Mainstreaming Regional Strategic   Plan at DSSS Level in collaboration with Caritas India.  Capacity enhancing training was initiated for the DSSSs and congregations on Key Strategic Pillars (KSPs) of Caritas India, CST and Diakonia insights. KROSS has taken the initiatives to roll out the RSP and revisit Diocesan Strategic Plan at DSS level. KROSS with its 14 partner DSSSs mainstreaming marginalized community through integration of Empowering Animation, Dialogue, Volunteerism and Sharing Communities based on key values of KSPs & Social Teachings.

Activities implemented

A regional level training programme was conducted on February 20,2024, for all the 14 DSSSs and 45 participants acquired knowledge on RPP/KSP & social teachings.

Trained DSSSs personnel on CST, KSPs and approaches at 3 DSSSs

Lenten Campaign Material Translated in to local vernacular language, printed and disseminated to DSSSs 

Participated in the launching and promotion of Lenten Campaign 

Facilitated and provided handholding support  to 3 DSSSs for formulation of DSP’s

Formation and strengthening of Child Rights Clubs/ Parliaments 

Promoted volunteers to sustain the programme on social concern

Results

  •  A state level federation of mutual help groups is formed for sustaining the wellbeing of the rural poor and marginalised sections of the society
  • Regional Perspective Plan integrated with ongoing programmes at regional and DSSs level
  • Accomplished Diocesan strategic plan at 3 DSSSs, incorporated key strategic pillars of Caritas India and core values of CST
  • 5679 participating community were trained on Empowering  Animation, Dialogue with the poor, duty bearers and nature on right based approach, organic farming and kitchen garden, rain water harvesting, waste management, global warming and climate change
  • 598 organic nutritional gardens promoted
  • 18 Environmental campaigns organised
  • Launched Lenten campaigns in all the partner DSSSs
  • 13,591 people availed various Government schemes
  • 1,673 women participated in the Grama Sabha and raised questions related to their basic amenities
  • 5421  families availed job under MGNREGA
  • 569 volunteers promoted and are actively involved in the programmes
  • 112 child rights clubs are functioning with  a membership of 1579 children

Conclusion

The trained personnel are aware and imbibe the core values of the Caritas Strategic Plan & Key Strategic Pillars and CST, enable them to animate community, volunteerism, and dialogue and create a sharing community. By creating awareness on environment people are motivated to protect the nature and safeguard the atmosphere, conserve water and take up afforestation. Promote committed volunteers willing to contribute skill, time and experience without any monitory benefit.  A cadre of volunteers are promoted and actively participate in the development work. Sharing community is promoted with sense of ownership, social capital, sustainability and independence. Gender equity is promoted whereby each and every person is respected in the community.  All work towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
