PAUSTIK: BUILDING COMMUNITY RESILIENCE TO MITIGATE MALNUTRITION – REVIEW MEETING 18TH & 19TH DECEMBER 2019.

The second Review Meeting of PAUSTIK Program for the year 2019 was held at KROSS Resource cum Training Centre, Bengaluru on 18th & 19th December 2019 which was attended by the three Coordinators and 13 Animators from the three implementing partners, BDDS-Ballari, BDSSS-Belagavi and SSDS-Kalaburgi. The Meeting was presided over by Fr. Sebastian Fernandes, Director-KROSS and managed by Mr. Varghese, Program Officer-PAUSTIK, Sr. Zita D’souza, Chief Coordinator, WEP-KROSS and Mr. Clement Fernandes, Program Manager.

Mr. Varghese welcomed all present and explained what would be the agenda over the next two days. The Director-KROSS in his address said that we are meeting once again after five months not only to review the work that has been done during this period but also to assess where we stand in respect of the target vs achievement. He said that we are here not only to show some result but to also express our empathy towards the beneficiaries, i.e., the Severely Acute and Moderately Acute Malnourished Children and also to illustrate our commitment towards the Pregnant Women, Lactating Mothers and Adolescent Girls.

The reports were then presented by the three Coordinators which were questioned, discussed, debated and feedback and suggestions were provided on how we could do the same things in a different manner to get more results. After every presentation, the other two implementing partners’ staff sought clarifications which was beneficial in cross learning and enabling them to replicate the best practices in their implementing area.

On the 2nd day after all the report presentation was completed, guidelines were issued on formulating the action plan which they had to prepare in consultation with their Diocesan Social Work Director and submit within three days to KROSS. The participants then shared their learning and assured that they would put in more efforts to make the program a success.

In his closing remarks, the Director-KROSS emphasised the further need of improvement in implementing the program, submitting authentic data and said that just meeting the target should not be our focus but instead we have to work for identifying more Severely Acute and Moderately Acute Malnourished Children and see that they are provided the needed support to bring them back to normal health. He wished the participants all the best in making the program a success.

The two days program was moderated by Sr. Jeevaltha, Coordinator, BDSSS-Belagavi and Mr. Manjunath, Coordinator, BDDS-Ballari who also concluded with the vote of thanks. Finally Mr. Varghese once again thanked each and every one present and especially the Director-KROSS for having being present on both the days and the feedback and guidance provided.
